Grace Wrapped in This Life of Many Colors

In the swiftness of this fast paced life I take great comfort in quiet and contemplation. The model was very tired and cold after a long day of posing. When the light was fading and the temperatures dropping we caught the last of the days light in the opened door of the studio. I threw an extra shawl around her and the comfort was quick as we finished up just a few more shots. The colorful threads of the shawls complicated pattern later reminded me of the complexity that this life weaves, but also the unexpected Grace of God in the last light of this color filled Autumn day. This painting reminds me to breathe slowly, to live well.
